Control Points

Control Points

When the FBC first discovered the Oldest House, navigation proved extremely difficult. However, with the help of rituals, investigators were able to slowly manage and secure portions of the Oldest House for the Bureau to occupy.

Control Points are central locations where the ley lines of the Oldest House converge. Manipulating these locations through rituals allows staff to manage and control them, causing shifts in topography that make the building more accessible to regular foot traffic.

The unstable nature of the Oldest House is to our benefit; the dangers inherent to the facility makes it difficult for outsiders to accidentally discover and assists the Bureau during sitewide lockdowns.

You can find the locations of all primary control points on the sector maps below. The control points must be manipulated only with their corresponding rituals; see “Workplace Rituals” (2019) for a full list of confirmed rituals for each control point.

Among the arsenal of tools employed by the Bureau are a specialized set of performances known as Rituals.

Rituals are operations that are performed in a variety of ways. Some of the most common involve auditory performances such as chanting (see MOT-11), making a particular stance (see MOT-37), or even brewing coffee in a specific manner (see MOT-76).
