Try Your Luck

Try Your Luck

Whether you’re a regular shmuck just trying to get by or a billionaire preying on the less fortunate, everyone under the sun tries to court the good graces of Lady Luck for their own advantage. Of course, there’s nothing “lucky” about coincidence — it’s just math.

So, how do we explain freak accidents? Well, we don’t. They may be statistical anomalies, but they are not paranatural anomalies. However, an anomalous form of “luck” does exist that can help us explain some oddities: quarters that always land on tails, gamblers that never seem to lose, close encounters with certain death. Those kinds of things.

The Luck & Probability Laboratory

At the Luck Lab, researchers run a wide battery of tests on everyday objects, rituals, and practices to record outcomes and gather data. Using this data, our staff determines the reproducability of luck-related anomalies and their possible application in studying the anomalous.
